The Char Dham or the four places of pilgrimage for the devout Hindu have always had a great deal of significance from time immemorial. However, till the creation of Chardham hotels in 2003 there was no serious effort made for the pilgrims to stay en route to and from these four holy places that were Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri. Today there are six Char Dham hotels, one for each of the Char Dhams besides one each at two beautiful places of Dharali and Maneri.
The four Char Dham hotels that serve the Hindu pilgrims well are one at Joshimath for pilgrims headed for Badrinath, at Guptkashi for Kedarnath, at Barkot for Yamnuotri and at Harsil for Gangotri. The other two at Dharali and Maneri serve both pilgrims and tourists out for a pleasant tour of the majestic mountains. While Dharali is a picturesque village, Maneri is right next to a lake of awesome beauty formed by the damming of the Bhagirathi.
The Chardham hotels are an excellent concept. They ensure optimum comfort for the pilgrims headed for the four places of pilgrimages while taking care for the fragility of the surrounding area. The mountains are a very sensitive environment. The area therefore needs to be nurtured. These camps are superior to any hotel you will find nearby. Further, the accommodation is in the form of spacious, all weather-proof luxury thatched roof cottage camps. Excellent multi-cuisine dining facilities serving wholesome vegetarian meals are provided to the tired pilgrims. Hot water bottles at sundown and attached baths and toilets with running hot and cold water are some of the other facilities provided in these fine hotels. Special offers make these hotels more attractive for your stay.
